Governor Viktor Tomenko led the regional delegation at the Siberian Agri-Food Forum. He stated that in 2025, the region once again confirmed its status as an agricultural leader:
The gross grain and legume harvest was 5.8 million tons, significantly exceeding domestic demand. Grain exports have increased fivefold since the beginning of the year compared to the same period in 2024. The main markets are China, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
Oilseeds: a new record is expected – ~3.2 million tons (2.3 million tons in 2024). Interest in soybeans is growing, along with sunflower, rapeseed, and flax.
Grain yields reached 21 centners per hectare for the first time – a historical high for the region.
Sugar beets: 1.4 million tons were harvested with a yield of 578 centners per hectare – enough to fully utilize Siberia's only processing plant.
Despite a decline in agricultural exports in 2024 ($511 million, -7.6% compared to 2023) and a reduction in the geography of deliveries (from 60 to 49 countries), 2025 has become a turning point: according to the results of the first months, exports have already grown by 32% to $492.3 million.
